The internet has enabled a lot of people with different skills and interests from their immediate peers to find like-minded people.
This has created all sorts of niche groups you don’t find outside.
Growing up without the internet, you don’t realize there are a lot of nerds just like you who like to build cool toy robots than play basketball. Without realizing that, you tend to conform to what is considered “normal.”
This is a whole different level of peer pressure.
If you go without realizing this, you will gradually lose those niche things that made you unique and stick to things everyone does.
The internet removed this barrier. And this is one of the best things the internet does.
